COLUMBUS, OH — High Bank’s Whiskey War Double Oaked is back with Batch #4.

Whiskey War Double Oaked is the award-winning Whiskey War Barrel Proof (already aged for 4.5 years) given a second maturation in a brand new charred oak barrel for an additional 7 months for a total age statement of 5 years. Double Oaked recently received Innovation and Gold medals at the SIP Awards and a Silver medal at the John Barleycorn Awards.

For the previous batches of Double Oaked, we put younger product into the barrels to age. Batch #4 is the first time we are putting back 4+ year product into the oak barrels. The second batch has been my favorite to date, but in my opinion, this batch has a better balance of sweet and oak notes.

The last release was 400 bottles of Double Oaked that sold out in 8 minutes. We listened to our audience’s positive response and want for more Double Oaked, so we focused on putting back a lot more barrels than previous years. It’s always fun when fans of High Bank get every batch of a product to compare against each other.

Flavor: A rye-heavy mash bill who’s nose is dominated with oak and caramel. Your palate enjoys heavy oak notes that are sweet on the front and still end with a hint of pepper. An overall sweet, earthy, and smooth experience that is easy to drink at 100 proof. This product is blended at around 4.5 years old and then spent another 7 months in a new oak barrel, for a total age of 5 years.
