HIGH BANK BREAKS A NATIONAL SPIRIT RECORD
COLUMBUS, OH — High Bank Distillery Co. was awarded Best Blended Whiskey in America…AGAIN!!
The San Francisco World Spirits Competition is known as the most influential and respected spirits competition in the world, judging spirits across 31 different categories. It is the largest and second oldest spirits competition in the world, including over 5,000 entries across the world, and is considered the "industry standard" of what's what in alcoholic beverages.
The SFWSC judging process consisted of 70 judges. These industry professionals try hundreds of spirits per category. If a spirit receives a high score, it is awarded a gold. These winning spirits are tasted again. If a spirit is receives multiple high scores it is then awarded a double gold.
At the competition in 2021, High Bank won Best Blended Whiskey in America for Whiskey War Barrel Proof. At this year’s 2022 competition, High Bank was awarded Best Blended Whiskey in America AGAIN for their Whiskey War Barrel Select Double Double Oaked.
The president of the Tasting Alliance and COO of The San Francisco World Spirits Competition, Amanda Blue, shared some words about this huge win.
It is unheard of for a distillery to win two years in a row, let alone a smaller, local distillery from Columbus, Ohio. This competition brings in thousands of spirits around the world and only the best of the best are recognized as “Best Of Class.”
Master Distiller and co-founder Adam Hines flew out to San Francisco to accept the Best Blended Whiskey in America award in-person.
We are absolutely blown away by winning the Best Blended Whiskey in America two years in a row. Double Double Oaked is definitely my favorite product yet. Whiskey War Barrel Proof was also a finalist in the blended whiskey category, competing against Double Double Oaked for the title. For our Barrel Select program and our Whiskey War line to be recognized on a national level is incredible.
I was honored to be invited out to San Francisco to accept the award in person. Meeting Amanda, the SFWSC team, and industry leaders was a once in a lifetime opportunity and privilege.
Whiskey War Barrel Select Double Double Oaked is currently sold out. Batch #2 of this yearly release is planned for late Fall of 2022.
High Bank also received 5 Double Gold awards, giving them the most Double Gold’s out of any distillery in America at the 2022 SFWSC.
