HIGH BANK TO RELEASE TWO BARREL SELECTS THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
COLUMBUS, OH — ‘Tis the season for special releases. This November, High Bank Distillery Co. is set to release two new bottles. Master Distiller Adam Hines speaks to High Bank’s barrel select program and what sets these bottles apart.
Our Barrel Select program is one of our our distillery team’s creative outlets. We get to experiment with unique barrels, taste through the product at various stages of the aging process and release out one-of-a-kind products to our audience who love to try new things.
The Pedro Ximenez Sherry is probably our most unique barrel select release yet. It has a balance of sweet and scotch notes, whereas the second-fill Pinot Noir brings in cherry notes from the French oak barrel. Both lead to the drinker having different experiences while enjoying the bottle. That’s what I love about our barrel selects, they allow our fans to branch out and experience different flavors, with the same rye, Whiskey War Barrel Proof base that goes into the barrel.

SECOND-FILL PINOT NOIR

Our classic rye-heavy mash bill that has been second aged in a high-end Pinot Noir wine cask for 13 months (total age of 5 years).
Tasting Notes: Fresh grape jelly with dark fruit in the middle, with a sweet and light finish.

Our classic rye-heavy mash bill that has been second aged in a high-end Pedro Ximenez Sherry cask for 5.5 months (total age of 5 years).
Tasting Notes: Sweet fruity start with a pepper and smokey finish.
