WHISKEY WAR BARREL PROOF TAKES HOME PLATINUM AWARD AT THE WORLD’S LARGEST SPIRIT COMPETITION
COLUMBUS, OH — High Bank Distillery Co.’s Whiskey War Barrel Proof was awarded a Platinum medal at this year’s San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Winning a platinum means a product has won three Double Golds for three consecutive years.
The San Francisco World Spirits Competition is known as one of the most influential and respected spirits competition in the world, judging spirits across 100 different categories. It is the 2nd oldest and largest spirits competition in the world, including over 6,000 entries across the world, and is considered the "industry standard" of what's what in alcoholic beverages. High Bank recently won Best Blended Whiskey in America for three years in a row in 2021, 2022 and 2023 — the only American distillery to break this record.
The SFWSC judging process consisted of 70 judges. These industry professionals try hundreds of spirits per category. If a spirit receives a high score, it is awarded a gold. These winning spirits are tasted again. If a spirit is receives multiple high scores it is then awarded a double gold.

Our team tastes through every single Barrel Proof batch and picks out nuances and specific flavors that we enjoy. We take the time to think through which batch we want to send to this prestigious competition. The fact that Barrel Proof won three Double Golds in a row shows that our product is consistently great, which has always been one our goals.
Our team was invited out to Las Vegas to accept the award for Best Blended Whiskey In America as well as the Platinum medal. It was an honor being in a room with the best spirit brands in the world, and to be recognized for our Whiskey War line.
